Spectacular Windmill Walk!πŸŒ„πŸŒž

We couldn’t have picked a better day for our hike up Craggagh Hill!

Congratulations to everybody who undertook this challenge in the warm conditions. Our Senior Room started out at the school and walked the 6kms to the windmills at Cuillalea. The route, as many of you know has some long hills, but the walker is rewarded with a nice combination of spectacular views in all directions, and dappled shade through the forestry. The windmills themselves are a sight to behold, especially in contrast with the surrounding bogland – a perfect example of old and new energy sources.

The Junior Room joined us at the top (thanks to Brendan Conwell) and they then walked across the bog (4kms) where they were greeted by the welcome sight of cool and refreshing ice creams for all!
