The children baked some delicious Gingerbread men today in school.
They measured out all of the ingredients, rolled out the dough and used cookie cutters to make biscuits.
After the biscuits were baked and had cooled, the children decorated them using icing.

75g dark brown sugar
75g butter
50g golden syrup
250g flour
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Royal icing to decorate
Method
- Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add the bicarbonate of soda, egg yolk and golden syrup to the bowl and mix well to combine.
- Add the flour and spiced to the bowl and mix well.
- Knead the dough into a ball and chill for 30 minutes in the fridge.
- Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to make biscuits.
- Bake in the oven at 180°C for 10 minutes.
