Blackberry Jam

We took advantage of the glorious weather this week and went foraging for blackberries around the school field and along the roadside.

Then, on Friday, we used the blackberries to make Jam. We had a taste of the jam on some crackers, then all of the children took a jar home to share with their families!

For those looking for the recipe, we used;

1kg of blackberries

1kg of sugar

Zest and fruit of one lemon

Add all of the ingredients to a large pot, bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. We also strained the jam through a sieve to remove the seeds.

It was delicious!
